These organizations bring services to those in need, promote effective policies and programs, assess and optimize health systems and health care delivery, provide funding to ensure that programs are sustained, and develop new diagnostic and treatment options.

Global health can celebrate many great achievements.
From eradicating smallpox to sequencing viral genomes, the advances have included basic science discoveries, programmatic advances, policy innovations and research breakthroughs.
