Plenary Theme

Separating Politics and Program: Envisioning a Healthier Dialogue on Reproductive Health

An array of issues and debates in recent years has contributed to a disturbing trend toward politicization in public health, particularly in the area of reproductive health. Increasingly, there is growing recognition among all viewpoints that the discourse is taking its toll in the loss of momentum and focus around the critical issues that need to be addressed to safeguard the health and well-being of women around the world.

Speakers discussed the urgent need to reframe the debate and form collaborative relationships aimed at delivering good reproductive health services to the people who need them.
