Resource Tracking of U.S. and Global HIV/AIDS Funding

Nov. 20, 2009

Funders Concerned About AIDS's (FCAA) new resource tracking report provides new information on 2008 HIV/AIDS grantmaking among 345 U.S.-based private philanthropic institutions. This year’s report includes a list of the top 72 funders who disbursed $300,000 (U.S.) or more to HIV/AIDS in 2008, as well as analysis of funds by geographical region and by intended use, the top three main population groups to which their funding was directed, and grantmaker forecasts for funding increases or decreases in 2009. New for 2009, FCAA asked funders to submit examples of innovative programs they are supporting. Profiled work includes: building the next generation of leaders in HIV prevention and advocacy; taking a collaborative approach to comprehensive sexual education in an urban school district; and funding grassroots organizations to effectively reach at-risk populations on-the-ground.
