Family Planning from a Faith-Based Perspective

Faith-based groups in the U.S. and the Global South have long been involved with family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) internationally and have a broad spectrum of attitudes and opinions toward FP/RH. Common ground and common language do exist, particularly when the emphasis is on family planning for maternal health and child survival.
Co-sponsors the Global Health Council's Faith and Global Health Caucus and Christian Connections for International Health (CCIH) held this panel discussion where presenters discussed results of the CCIH survey of its members' attitudes and programs in family planning, the rationale for faith-based support of family planning, and some case studies of religious institutions engaged with family planning the results of the CCIH survey of its members' attitudes and programs in family planning.
