Elizabeth Glaser Scientist Awards 2004-2005

The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation announces the Request for Applications (RFA) for the 2004-2005 Elizabeth Glaser Scientist Awards.

This international program was established as a testament to Elizabeth Glaser's strength, her courage and her vision. The goal of this program is to build a network of scientists focusing on issues of pediatric HIV/AIDS and creating a generation born free of this infection.

The Foundation is especially interested in receiving applications for the following research topics: transmission of virus from mother to infant, including prevention; pathogenesis of HIV infection; vaccine development; breast-milk transmission; characterization of immune response to HIV (including immune reconstitution); mucosal immunity to HIV; central nervous system and HIV; host genetic factors that increase or decrease susceptibility of the neonate to perinatal HIV infection; epidemiology and health services research; complications of antiretroviral therapy in infants; and other critical areas highly relevant to pediatric HIV/AIDS research.
