Picturing Hope is dedicated to providing children at risk and affected by HIV/AIDS the supportive environments and resources they need to explore their feelings, strengthen their sense of self, and find a voice with which to tell their stories. The program's key learning tool is photography. The children in the program (from five different countries: Burkina Faso, India, Mexico, Romania and Tanzania) are given cameras and venture out in supervised groups to interview and photograph people from their surrounding community. The photographs on display in the Rayburn Building Foyer on November 29th and 30th constitute the North American Premiere of this project.
Join us for breakfast and meet children from Romania, Burkina Faso and India who participated in this project along with Craig Bender, the photographer who led them.
