Partner's Forum: Reproductive Health 101
Thursday, June 28, 2007
3:30–5 pm
Global Health Council
1111 19th Street, NW
Suite 1120
Washington, D.C.
As the number of women of reproductive age (15-49) has reached an all time high, family planning services and contraceptive supplies have not kept pace. U.S. investment in international family planning services have decreased in real terms over the last 10 years. In the face of this, advocates are prepared to renew the push for services that will improve the lives of women, children and families throughout the world. This forum focused on the current state of reproductive health and its connections to overall global health.
This was the first in our three-part series focusing on reproductive health this summer. In the next session, in mid-July, we will be focusing on country-level programs, and the final session in late July will examine unmet needs in reproductive health with a focus on displaced populations and HIV/AIDS.
Speakers include:
- Sarah Craven, Chief, Washington Office, UNFPA, United Nations Population Fund
- Maurice Middleberg, Vice President for Public Policy, Global Health Council
