DATA - Debt, AIDS, Trade in Africa

DATA is a new organization which aims to raise awareness about the crisis swamping Africa: unpayable DEBTS, uncontrolled spread of AIDS, and unfair TRADE rules which keep AFRICANS poor. We are asking that the governments of the world's wealthy nations - the United States, Europe, Canada and Japan - respond quickly and generously to this emergency.

We also ask Africa's leaders to practice democracy, accountability and transparency - to make sure that help for African people goes where it's intended and makes a real difference.

DATA is working to bring people and organizations from all around the United States and the world together to stop the spread of AIDS and extreme poverty in Africa. We have offices in Washington DC and London, where we work to get the word out about the crisis in Africa - and work to tell our leaders and politicians that people like YOU want to see action.

Again and again, politicians tell us they want to do more for Africa. Then they don't. Why? Because they don't hear from YOU - taxpayers, voters and consumers - that you care and want to see something done. We're here to help you get the word to your leaders - and we want your help in finding the very best ways to do that.
