The Global Health Council, working with its members, serves as a strong voice for civil society in Washington and other global forums. The overall goal of the Council's advocacy efforts is to improve the health of those living in the developing world by improving the effectiveness of programs and increasing overall funding for these programs.
Our advocacy is done through:
- Global Health Council Advocacy Week in Washington, D.C. | 2010 Priorities
- The Policy Series;
- The convening of global health Coalitions:
| The Council convenes a number of issue-specific advocacy coalitions throughout the year that relate directly to the global health issues you care about: Family Health, Global AIDS, HIV Implementers, Malaria, Tuberculosis Roundtables and a Health Systems Initiative Network. We need your voice, presence and input in these groups. |
- The University Coalitions for Global Health, a coalition of young activists working together to raise awareness about global health;
- Participation in international advocacy efforts, including participation on the Developed Country Board delegation for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Through these efforts, our membership is able to engage policy-makers in Washington, D.C., and globally in a dialogue to ensure that global health programs are as effective as possible.
If you would like additional information or would like to join our advocacy efforts, please contact us at policy@globalhealth.org.
