The White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood

On behalf of the Global Health Council and the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood, we would like to congratulate all the organizations and individuals who participated in the 4th Annual White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood Contest.

A panel consisting of representatives from the World Bank, Options UK, and Women's Global Health Imperative at the University of California, SF reviewed all entries.

Projects from around the world, from India to Burkina Faso, designed awareness-raising campaigns at the community, policy or health service-delivery level. Each project was unique and creative.

The Global Health Council and the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood highlighted the outstanding work of the winners during the Global Health Council's Annual Conference in Washington, DC "Our Future on Common Ground: Health and the Environment," 27-30 May 2003 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel.

A celebratory Awards Ceremony and Reception was held on May 30 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel.
